MerkadoLink supports international producers and brands with positioning and go-to-market strategies for Germany, provides access to relevant retailers and decision-makers, and prepares and accompanies commercial negotiations — for both branded products and private label (MDD) business.

Built by someone who understands both sides of the market

MerkadoLink was founded by Nathalie Schäfer, an international sales and marketing professional with more than 14 years of experience in strategic sales, market entry, and product development within the agri-food and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and has built her career around supporting premium and innovative brands in their European expansion. Her experience spans the entire value chain — from production and product development to commercial strategy, negotiation, and retail partnerships.

Her professional roots lie in fresh produce, where she spent many years at SanLucar in senior sales and product development roles. Working closely with growers, production teams, and international retail customers gave her a deep understanding of producer realities as well as retail expectations.
Today, her expertise extends beyond fresh produce into broader FMCG segments, including frozen food and pet retail.

Before founding MerkadoLink, Nathalie held leadership positions in strategic sales, product development, and project management. She was responsible for driving business development, shaping assortment strategies, and positioning products successfully across European markets.
This combination of operational, commercial, and strategic experience forms the foundation of MerkadoLink’s practical, market-driven approach.
